Someone is standing in front of four listings trying to cover 118 guests. Two kits for 50 leaves eighteen people empty handed. A kit for 100 plus a kit for 25 overshoots by seven. Neither option is obviously right, and the product pages do not explain the reasoning.
They should, because the counts inside these kits are not arbitrary.
What is actually inside a kit
A New Year's Eve party kit bundles three categories: headwear, noisemakers, and wearable favors. The counts are built so the totals land exactly on the guest number, even when the individual pieces do not.
The Gold Legacy kit for 25 is a clean example. Thirteen plastic toppers with foil bands plus twelve glittered fringed tiaras equals 25 pieces of headwear. Fifteen 9 inch foil horns plus ten deluxe noisemakers equals 25 noise sources, so nobody shares. Thirteen soft-twisted poly leis plus twelve bead necklaces at 33 inches finishes the set.
The 50 count Legacy kit follows the same logic at double scale: 25 toppers and 25 tiaras, 30 horns and 20 noisemakers, 25 leis and 25 beads. At 100, the Gem-Star Deluxe splits headwear three ways, with 50 printed foil hi-hats, 20 glittered fringed tiaras, and 30 glittered foil tiaras, plus a printed foil horn for every hand.
The four sizes and who each one is for
The 10 count kits are for a dinner party or one table. Tuxedo-Nite splits ten guests into five glittered foil hi-hats, five glittered feathered tiaras, and ten tasseled foil horns in a black and white scheme. There is also a stripped down kit for 10 that skips headwear entirely and gives you ten 9 inch foil horns, ten 33 inch bead necklaces, and five confetti bursts, which is 25 pieces total and a good fit for a crowd that will not wear a hat.
Most kits ship as one case containing one kit. That plain kit for 10 is the exception worth knowing about, because it also comes as a case of twelve kits, which is how you outfit twelve separate tables or a small chain of locations without buying a hundred-count box and splitting it by hand.
The 25 count is the awkward-size solver. It is the one you add to a 50 or a 100 to close a gap.
The 50 count is the standard party. The 100 count is banquet hall territory, and the larger kits start adding things the small ones do not have. Here is the honest limitation of these kits: the headwear split assumes half your room wants a hat and half wants a tiara. That is a guess made in a factory, and at plenty of parties it is wrong. If your crowd skews heavily one way, you will end up with a pile of unused tiaras or a shortage of hats. Buying a kit for the horns and beads, then adding hats separately by the case, costs a little more effort and fixes the problem completely.
What New Year's Eve party kits do not include
Kits cover the guests. They do not cover the room or the moment.
Not included in any of them: tablecovers, cups, a balloon drop, loose confetti for the tables, and in most cases serpentine throws. If the countdown is supposed to have a visual payoff, that is a separate purchase every time.
